The Western Pennsylvania Professional Horsemen's Association offers scholarships for any WPaPHA members, junior or adult, who have shown interest and good sportsmanship in any aspect of the horse industry and who have the ability to benefit from professional training or are enrolled or enrolling in an approved school program in a horse related field for the advancement of their education beyond the elementary level.
These scholarship awards are to be used by the individual for school/education program or for riding instruction with a professional who is a member of the PHA, or a PHA approved clinic or seminar.
The amount of each scholarship will be determined by the scholarship committee. For the year 2006, the awards will be as follows: 1. up to a maximum of $100.00 for clinics and lessons and 2. up to a maximum of $250.00 for further education. The 2006 Scholarship Awards will be presented at the WPaPHA Annual Awards Banquet in November 2006.
To apply for a scholarship an applicant must :
Be a member in good standing of the WPaPHA for at least two years;
Fill out the application, and explain on a separate sheet of paper what they would like the scholarship for and why;
Write an essay on "Changes I would like
to see in Equine Sports." This essay should be no more than 1000
words, type-written, and be attached to this application;
Submit the completed applications to:

15th, 2006. Applications also be accepted at the Secretary's Office during
the WPaPHA Horse Show.
